Process

The cultivation process starts from the planting and nursing the plant all the way until the growth of the fruit, and the collection of the bunch. Throughout the year the crops are renewed and classified by maturity with colorful ribbons, by which you can determine in which week of growth the fruit is in and what is the proper care for that particular moment in the plantation. Using local farming techniques from the area is how excellence is achieved. When cutting the banana bunches they are placed on a transport belt (cablevía) which runs through the entire plantation in packs and they end up at the recollection area from (patio de fruta). Prior of the recollection area (patio de fruta) the bunches goes through a weight station that registers the origin of the field, weight, with a barcode for all technical purposes. Upon arrival at the sorting center, the weight of the bunch is recorded in the database of the plantation. With the data stored, production statistics in each field area of BANANOSA can be set. After the bunch has been registered, our qualified staff is responsible for the next step in the process which is ‘desmanar’, where each bunch is fragmented and separated into smaller groups of bananas and are then deposited in the washing area. The bananas are washed and premium quality clusters are selected, discarding those that do not comply with the standard conditions of weight, size and calibration. Finally the fruit goes through and placed in boxes according to client requires and inspected quality control then placed in paletts in a container for a final destination.
